Woman burns husband with hot water over missing child

A 35-year-old woman was on Wednesday arrested at Embakasi in Kakamega County after she allegedly burned her husband with hot water after she was questioned about the whereabouts of their 6-month-old baby.

The accused, Jackline Muhatia, reportedly poured hot water that was meant to prepare ugali on her husband when he confronted her regarding their missing child.

According to one of the residents, Irene Nduale, the accused received a strange visitor Wednesday morning who was later allegedly seen leaving with the baby.

“We found the woman in Jacky’s bedroom parking the baby’s clothes as Jacky guarded the door,” said Nduale.

“When her husband asked her about the baby she threatened to kill him the way she killed two men before,” she added.

The accused however denied the allegations, claiming she was only a Good Samaritan to the strange woman who had sought accommodation, adding that the woman stole the baby without her knowledge.

Muhatia also said she did not pour hot water on her husband, terming it an accident.

The victim was rushed to Kakamega General Hospital where he is receiving treatment.
