Woman dies after being thrown out of moving car

A 24-year-old woman in Ainamoi, Kericho county died after she was thrown out of a moving vehicle.

Kericho deputy OCPD Nathan Sanya confirmed the incident saying the deceased, Lydia Chepkemei died after she sustained serious head injuries.

Mr. Sanya, said they have launched investigations into the incident which occurred on the Kericho- Kapsaos road at 10.30pm on Sunday.

He said they had managed to arrest the driver of the vehicle and were interrogating him to get to the bottom of the issue.

The OCPD said preliminary investigations indicated that other occupants of the vehicle together with the deceased were having a drink in one of the bars in Kericho town. Police also want to determine if she fell out of the car over intoxication or was thrown out.

The Deputy OCPD said an eyewitness helped the police arrest the driver. They also recovered the car which had been abandoned a few kilometers from the accident scene.

The body of the deceased was removed to Kericho district hospital mortuary.
