Woman dies of ‘shock’ after witnessing gun attack
A 70-year-old woman died of ‘shock’ after witnessing a middle-aged man get shot by gunmen who attacked them at Ntimaru area along the Kuria-Trasmara border on Friday night.
A group of armed assailant attacked one of the homes at the border in an incident suspected to be a retaliatory attack.
Kuria East Deputy County Commissioner Wesley Koech said the attackers terrorized the family and disappeared in the thickets.
He said police suspect that the incident was a retaliatory attack.
According to the Deputy County Commissioner, a family lost one of their loved ones in a similar attack three weeks ago along the border.
He, however, said police are investigating the matter.
Koech said they will bring on board the members of county assemblies from both the Trans Mara and Kuria region in the Migori and Narok counties to help quell the tension in the region.
He appealed to the Maasai and the Kuria community living at the border of Narok and Migori County to embrace diplomacy in solving their issues.
The middle age man is still recuperating at Migori Level Four Hospital.
