A middle-aged woman was arrested while allegedly trying to sell her two children in Bondo town on Thursday.

The woman, identified as Zaidi Hassan, was allegedly found hawking her two children aged 1 and 4 years.

Chairman of Bondo sub-county community policing committee Juma Abuko said the woman tried to sell the two children for Ksh.60,000 and Ksh.55,000 respectively.

Members of the public reportedly questioned her wondering why she would want to do such a thing.

She revealed that she had just arrived in Bondo town from Busia after selling her two other children in Kisumu.

She had on her two bags full of children’s clothes.

Police were called in and she and her two remaining children were taken into custody.

Bondo Sub-County Police Commander Anthony Wafula confirmed the arrest noting that investigations are underway.
