Woman in anguish after child kidnapped

A woman in Kapsabet, Nandi County is in agony after her 1-year-old baby went missing after allegedly being kidnapped by her neighbor three weeks ago.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Ann Atieno, 26, said that she left her baby – Lavin Anyango – under the care of her neighbor whom she has been living with.

Atieno said she had disagreed with her husband before leaving for work and when she came back the woman’s house was locked with a padlock and she was nowhere in sight.

She was told by other neighbors that the suspect was last seen holding the baby as she went to buy meat from a butchery at the nearby shopping center but the two never returned.

The distraught mother said she is at a loss, especially after her family accused her of selling the baby to someone else.

She, however, has not lost hope and has made numerous visits to the police station to seek assistance.

Atieno is now pleading with anyone who has information on her missing child to avail it to the authorities.
