Woman in Kisumu allegedly commits suicide over chapati

A 20-year-old woman from Kisumu County has allegedly committed suicide after a bitter exchange with her aunt over chapati.

The deceased only identified as Sharon is said to have hang herself after being accused of misusing money to buy chapati and beans.

Jane Auma who works as a saloonist in the area said she had left money for lunch to be bought for the whole family but found that Sharon had spent it on herself.

She claimed that when she question her niece as to why she did not buy food and cook for the whole family, a confrontation ensued.

Auma however defended herself saying she did not think that the altercation would lead to her niece taking her own life.

The deceased apparently left behind a suicide note which her uncle took to the police.

The body has since been moved to Jaramogi Oginga Referral Hospital Mortuary.
