Woman killed after an ox-cart she was riding hit a cactus plant in Masinga

A middle-aged woman has died after an ox-cart she was riding hit a cactus plant near the Masinga Market and overturned.

She was pronounced dead upon her arrival at the Masinga Level 3 Hospital with police officers saying she had suffered life-threatening injuries from the fall.

Her co-wife who was riding the same cart also sustained injuries but was treated and discharged.

The two were returning home from harvesting maize when the accident occured.

Their cart reportedly hit a cactus plant, throwing them overboard.

The body of the deceased was taken to the Mabaku funeral home in Matuu.
