Woman killed, husband and child injured after lorry rams into their house

A middle-aged woman was killed on Tuesday after a lorry rammed into their house in Aldina-Jomvu, Mombasa County.

According to Jomvu OCPD James Mutua, the woman’s husband and child were injured during the incident and rushed to Coast General hospital.

Speaking to the press, Mutua said the lorry which was ferrying sand, stalled while going uphill before tumbling backwards and ramming into the house whose occupants were still sleeping.

The driver of the lorry has since been arrested and is being held at Mikindani police station as investigations into the accident continue.

The body of the deceased was moved to Coast General hospital mortuary.
