Woman killed, three daughters raped after gang raids home in Kericho

A woman was killed and her three daughters raped after a gang armed with crude weapons raided their home in Samuget village, Kericho County.

According to Kericho County commandant James Mugera, 78-year old Kiplangat Chepkwony was seriously injured after he was hit on the head with a blunt object.

The four-man gang is reported to have descended on the old man while he was asleep and robbed him of Ksh.5000, his mobile phone before fatally hitting his wife Anna Chepkwony on the head.

The gang that was armed with knives, chisels and iron bars also attacked the house help, Sheila Cherotich, leaving her unconscious.

During the 4am incident, the couple’s three daughters aged between 11- 29 years were sexually assaulted.

They are recuperating at the AIC mission hospital in Litein.

Police have launched a manhunt for the gang and investigations into the incident are currently underway.
