Woman murdered as love goes sour

A family in Mithanga village in Kangema, Murang’a County is crying for justice after a woman was allegedly hacked to death in what is believed to have been a case of love gone sour.

Susan Wangari, a 39-year-old widow, is said to have been killed on Thursday, August  17, night in cold blood by her lover Peter Njuguna with whom she had been living with since her husband died five years ago.

Friends and family of the late Susan Wangari gathered at her homestead following the shocking news.

The deceased lover, Peter Njuguna, is believed to be the main suspect in the murder.

A relative, who responded to a distress call by the victim’s daughter, found the deceased’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood.

Mary Njambi, a relative, said: “I entered the house only to find Susan lying down. We carried her and took her to the hospital.”

Witnesses said that the couple had quarreled after the man accused the woman of infidelity.

The quarrel degenerated into a physical fight which ended with the being woman stabbed on the face and head.

Kangema OCPD, Cosmas Wachang’oka, said investigations have been launched and that police are pursuing the suspect who remained at large.
