Woman paralysed after undergoing cesarean section

A 27-year-old mother of twins is in sorrow after the delivery of her bundles of joy went wrong, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down following a botched cesarean section.

Lucy Kinya who hails from Kianjai Town in Tigania East sub-county told Citizen Digital that her twins, a boy and a girl, are her first, adding that she does not understand how she ended up paralysed after their birth.

Ms Kinya is now unable to take care of her newborns and of herself.

She has been to a few hospitals seeking treatment and has begun physiotherapy, but she tells this reporter that her money ran out, even with help from friends and family.

Speaking at her home, Igembe South MP Mithika Linturi and Meru County Women Representative Florence Kajuju called on well-wishers to assist Lucy raise money to continue with physiotherapy appointments.

Mr Linturi called on the Kenya Medical and Dentists Board to investigate the case urgently, adding that action should also be taken on quack doctors.
