Woman reveals she was sexually assaulted by gynecologist in U.S.

Evelyn Yang, wife of democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang, has revealed that she was sexually assaulted by her gynecologist.

Mrs. Yangtold revealed that she was prompted to tell her own story after reading a letter sent to her husband by a woman who wanted to press sexual assault charges against an investor in her company.

“That was enough for her to make this life-altering move, and that was just so powerful. I remember reading that letter and others and saying, ‘I feel you. I wish I could reach out to you and tell you I understand. I have my own story,'” she told CNN.

Mrs. Yang explained that the incident occurred during her pregnancy with their first child where she sought the services of Dr. Robert Hadden, an obstetrician-gynecologist at the medical facilities in Columbia University.

She explained that Dr. Hadden initially asked unnecessary and inappropriate questions about her sexual activities with her husband which she found uncomfortable but decided to ignore them.

The long examinations culminated in a complete breach of trust on the seventh month of pregnancy when Dr. Hadden decided to examine her internally claiming he needed to determine whether she needed a C section.

“I knew it was wrong. I knew I was being assaulted,” she added. Like so many survivors of sexual assault, Yang said she had always thought she would run away in a situation like this. But that’s not what happened.

“I imagined myself as someone being, you know, like I would throw a chair at him and run out yelling bloody murder,” Yang said.

“I just kind of froze like a deer in headlights, just frozen. I knew it was happening. I could feel it,” she added.

“I remember trying to fix my eyes on a spot on the wall and just trying to avoid seeing his face as he was assaulting me, just waiting for it to be over.”

She resolved never to go back for another consultation or tell anyone what had happened because she blamed herself.

Hadden’s attorney has since denied the allegations and declined requests by CNN for an interview.
