Woman’s tongue nearly cut off outside Makueni pub

Police have arrested one suspect in connection to an incident where a middle-aged woman was attacked and her tongue nearly cut off in Makindu Town, Makueni County on Saturday night.

Confirming the incident Makindu OCPD Esau Ochorokodi said the woman is recuperating at Makindu Hospital.

The woman was accosted by two men while leaving a pub in Makindu Town.

One of the men is said to have approached her before his accomplice emerged and together they struggled to reach for her tongue.

The woman raised an alarm and was rescued by other revelers before her tongue could to be severed. The two unknown assailants immediately fled the scene with police launching a manhunt for them.

The woman’s tongue has since been stitched and she is reported to be in stable condition.
