Woman arrested for brutally assaulting five-year-old son
A woman from Kamiu, Embu County is in police custody for regularly inflicting serious injuries on her five-year-old son.
Reports indicate that the boy has been admitted to Embu Level Five Hospital with bruises all over his body.
According to the area Assistant Chief Sammy Njagi, villagers reported the mother to prevent her from killing the boy.
He said several pleas for her to stop hurting her son fell on deaf ears and that is when they sought intervention from officers at Itabua Police Station.
“Parents should have a less harsh method of disciplining their children, is not right to brutalise a child,” he added.
The woman is expected to be charged at an Embu court court next week.
