Your days are over, DP William Ruto tells drug barons

Deputy President William Ruto has once again put drug barons at the Coast on notice saying their days in the country are over.

Ruto, who was on a voter registration drive in Kwale County, said the government is determined to exterminate drug business in Kenya.

“All those who are involved in drug dealings should learn that what has happened so far is just the beginning. There is more to come and those barons should vacate this country,” he said.

Deputy President’s warning comes a few days after Akasha brothers, infamously known as drug lords at the coast, were extradited to the United States of America (USA) to face drug-related charges.

Ruto’s sentiments were in proper sync with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s words during a tour of the same area to mobilise Makonde Community to acquire Identity Cards (ID) and enlist as voters.

The Jubilee top leadership have made numerous back to back tours of the coast region, in an attempt to woo voters to support President Kenyatta’s re-election bid.

National Assembly Majority Leader, Aden Duale, who had accompanied the deputy president in the tour, challenged the opposition coalition to appoint a presidential candidate saying: “The presidential race in the coming general election will be between two horses, our competitors should come with their horse as soon as possible.”
