Your Story: Gertrude Wamae Bone Cancer Survivor

October is the breast cancer awareness month but one woman has come out to not only ask people to go for early screening but to create awareness on a rare type of cancer – the bone cancer.  Gertrude Msuruve Inimah Wamae, a lecturer at the Jomo Kenyatta University Science and technology, is a bone cancer survivor who has a prosthesis fitted in her pelvis through a procedure performed in India at a cost of 5 million shillings. Tonight on your story the 47 year old lecturer tells Judy Kosgei her triumphant story and how she was forced to sell her family land to raise medical funds.
