Youth allied to Uhuru campaign for him in Mt Kenya region

The Tokelezea Vijana na UhuRuto campaign team led by Jubilee Senate nominee, Wambui Nyutu, took to Nyeri county Saturday, July 1, 2017 to solicit votes for President Uhuru Kenyatta come August 8, 2017.

The team was an assemblage of youth from different parts of the country preaching peace ahead of the General Election. The team camped in Nyeri on Thursday, Laikipia on Friday and in Meru on Saturday, July 1, 2017.

Speaking in Nairutia, the Tokelezea Vijana downsized National Super Alliance (NASA) manifesto saying it has marginalised youth grievances and NASA priorities are misfiled. The youth further condemned NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga for subscribing to a conflict-ridden mantra of divisive politics.

However, they commended President Kenyatta for his development record and recognised him for prioritising youth through job creation during his five year tenure and in the three pillars of Jubilee’s blueprint.

The formative youth drummed up support in Nairutia, Kiawara, Mweiga, Nyeri town, Mukurwe-ini, Karatina and Chaka towns where they called on their fellow youth to turn up in large numbers and ensure UhuRuto team wins the election.

Correspondingly, some Jubilee Members of Parliament who took to Nyandarua County to rally votes rubbished NASA Manifesto, terming it ‘deceitful and unjustifiable’.

They reproached NASA for allegedly plotting to distribute illicit brews on the day of General Election in Mt. Kenya region in order to sabotage voter turnout.

They advised bar owners to close business on that fateful day and if possible NACADA to decree the same across the country.

Kinangop MP, Stephen Mburu, called on National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and other relative government institutions to probe Raila for threatening to declare himself President if he loses.
