Youth to be facilitated with ID cards- Kenyatta

President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured Kenyan youth who have reached the age of 18 that the government will facilitate the speedy issuance of national identity cards.

President Kenyatta who was speaking Friday when he made stopovers in Isiolo town and Ngaremara trading centre in Isiolo County asked county commissioners to ensure that the youth get the important identification document without being harassed. 

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto were in Isiolo County where the president told Kenyan youth that they will get identity cards without being harassed.

The President at the same time called on the residents to shun inciters and leaders bent on dividing them along political party affiliation, religious and tribal lines.

Underlining the importance of security in development, President Kenyatta urged the pastoralist communities to discard the retrogressive practice of cattle rustling and he asked residents to cooperate with government security agencies by exposing criminals.

The president made the remarks when he addressed the public at several stopovers in Isolo County where he was officiating the pastoralists leaders conference that brought together leaders in fourteen counties that practice pastoralist activities.
