Youth to benefit as Taita Taveta County partners with Equity Bank

The Taita Taveta County Government has formed a partnership with Equity Bank to empower entrepreneurs, especially the youth, through financial support and mentorship programs.

The county has planneda Taita Taveta Youth Summit where over 3000 youths are expected to attend.

Governor Granton Samboja on Thursday met Equity Bank CEO James Mwangi at the bank headquarters in Nairobi to deliberate on among other issues building capacity of youth in organised groups.

This will increase the number of financial institutions that have been approached by the county government to support the youth venturing in entrepreneurship.

According to Governor Samboja, his administration is committed to ensuring that it complies with the public procurement rule that sets aside 30% of government tenders for youth, women and persons living with disabilities.

Through the Governor’s consoted efforts, business persons can access customised financial services.

Makandenyi Youth Group and several traders have been supported through such efforts.
