Yvonne Wamalwa burial set for next Saturday

Yvonne Wamalwa, the widow of former Vice President Kijana Wamalwa will be buried at her farm in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County on Saturday, February 3.

According to her family, the requiem mass will be held at Consolata Shrine in Westlands, Nairobi on Thursday, February 1.

Former Cabinet Minister Musikari Kombo said that prior to her death, the diplomat had been ailing for a long time.

“The mass will take place on Thursday. Her body will stay there through the night and will be put to laid to rest on Saturday,” said Kombo who is the chairperson of the burial committee.

Her body will then be airlifted to her home on Friday before she is buries on Saturday.

Eugene appointment

Kombo was flanked by new Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa, Deputy Head of Public Service Wanyama Musyambo, former Vihiga governor Moses Akaranga and former cabinet minister Noah Wekesa.

“We want to thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing Eugene to a bigger portfolio than we expected. We also want to thank him for nominating Rashid Achesa to the Cabinet, with that Jubilee Party is going to grow stronger in Trans Nzoia and Western,” said Mr. Wekesa.

Mrs. Wamalwa died on January 25 while undergoing treatment at Nanyuki Cottage Hospital.
