2020 Season: Champs Butali, Blazers land fair-looking opening fixtures

Hockey Premier League champions Butali Sugar will launch their title defence on April 4 with a clash against Park Road Badgers while Blazers ladies, formerly known as Telkom, will get their campaign going with a fixture against varsity side USIU.

Both champions will be looking forward to another impeccable season.

The 2019 men’s league runners up Wazalendo United will be looking to go a step further when they set off against USIU-A . To spice up this tasty looking clash will be the star players on parade at City Park including reigning  Men’s Player of the Year  winner Sutcliffe Usagi.

Parkroad Badgers and Mombasa Sports Club; the new kids in the men top tier are set to continue their Super League rivalry at the first time of asking in the new season when they counter each other in their first matches, primed for March 28.

Relegated Parklands Sports Club will hope to bounce back to the top tier division when they set off their campaign against Sikh Union while students Kenyatta University and Multimedia University teams will hope to cancel each other in the round one fixtures  of the men’s  Super League on February 29th . The other fixture sees  Technical University of Kenya and KCA University go head to head.

 

Finishing in the top two of the ladies Super League Division last season, DFG Wolverines and Oranje Leonas will hope to start a new life at the supreme leves  of the Women’s game in the country when they welcome Strathmore University and Amira Sailors respectively in the Women’s Premier League.

The men’s National League which has been divided into two regions; Western and Eastern regions will see Daystar University and The University of Nairobi lock horns in the first match of the Eastern region draw, a match primed to be a tough clash between two fast rising powerhouses whereas UoN take on Mombasa West in the Western Region first match.
