A den in turmoil: Leopards coach Trucha set to quit this afternoon

The troubles at AFC Leopards has reached boiling point with Czech Republic head coach Tomas Trucha expected to quit the club this afternoon.

And as the tensions blow out of proportion, club chairman Dan Shikanda has warned he’s going to deal with those he calls ”rebels” for masterminding turmoil in the den with head Tomas Trucha set to quit this afternoon.

“We will do the right thing for this club and we shall not be threatened by anyone. Ambani and group, the likes of Micah and Alukwes and Bilal… we shall put them where they belong,” Shikanda said, adding, “they wake up every morning posting pure lies on social media pages and start a topic about Shikanda, Shikanda, Shikanda, all full of lies!”

Shikanda’s sentiments comes barely a day after head coach Tomas Trucha’s manager Prince Kofi complained of threats towards him and his client on matters fielding of players.

Leopards chiefs are set to hold a closed-door crisis meeting this afternoon to convince the already decided coach Trucha to continue sharpening the team and thereafter hold a press briefing in the evening at Chester House, Nairobi at 5pm.

A Ghanaian player in question is said to be omitted from the 30-man list of players to feature this season yet he was in Trucha’s plans with Shikanda saying that they were working on his documents first before registering him.

Ingwe hierarchy has also been accused of cooking up figures in sign-on-fees of new players hence profiting themselves to a tune of millions, an allegation Shikanda has dismissed.

“Those people are spreading pure lies. If they have any question concerning the amount of money we bought players with, let them come out and ask, we will explain to them.

“The player in question who is said not to be registered was forwarded by Coach Trucha but unfortunately he did not have his documents with him, and we have been working to sort that out. We were planning to register him finally but because some people have painted his name in bad light I’m sorry we might not go ahead with the process,” Shikanda regretted.

Leopards managed to silence Tusker FC 2-1 on Saturday at Kasarani Stadium, in their opening tie to mark a strong start to their campaign.

They clash next with Bidco United, a match that deputy coach Antony Modo Kimani is likely to be fully in charge of.
