Fresh from injury, Abdallah Hassan provided a solid boost for the hosts after finding the opener before William Wadri added the second and on-form Yema Mwana struck the third after John Mwangi had scored for Mathare.

Mathare united were the better side in the opening thirty minutes and but the first clear cut chance fell to Hassan who put away Johanna Mwita’s fine delivery into the box.

Three minutes later Ugandan William Wadri added the second goal after being fed by former Zoo talinsman Danson Chetambe to give the hosts a deserved lead as they head back to the tunnel.

Salim Ali introduced a double substitute after the break introducing Daniel Otieno and Lual Dawi in place of James Kinyanjui and Tyson Otieno.

Fresh from the bench for a third match congolese Yema Mwana connected Darius Msagha’s cross which was laid past the keeper in the stoppage time to completed Bandari’s win.

After 21 rounds Bandari are still 11th in the log three points shy Mathare who have a game in hand.

Leopards worked for hard for their victory and needed some inspiration from Rupia, signed to replace John Mark Makwatta, to dispatch Sofapaka. The striker has now has scored three goals in four matches.

After thrashing champions Gor Mahia FC, Sofapaka were expected to continue that form against Leopards who were forced to answer tough questions from Elly Asieche, Sebastien Kayanja and Ameyaw in the opening proceedings.

Both sides could not be separated at half time but Rupia found the breakthrough from the penalty spot. He doubled his side’s advantage with 12 minutes to go and there was still time for Ameyaw to pull one back albeit too little to late.
