Hassan Abdallah scored his third goal in as many matches as Bandari FC edged Posta Rangers 1-0 to go top of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) standings on 18 points.

Bandari lead Mathare United by a point but have a one-match advantage over the runners-up who could yet reclaim top spot on Saturday when they host Kakamega Homeboyz in Kasarani.

At the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, AFC Leopards bounced back from their shock defeat to KCB FC by defeating Chemelil Sugar 2-1 thanks to goals from Jaffery Owiti and Eugene Mukangula.

In Kericho, Kariobangi Sharks needed a late Yidah Sven equalizer to rescue a point from their 1-1 draw with Zoo FC after Bernard ‘Nado’ Odhiambo had given the hosts the first half lead.

At the Mbaraki Stadium, Bandari dominated large parts of the game and should have been a goal up inside just ten minutes but the crossbar rescued Posta when David King’atua’s effort seemed to be going in.

The visitors also had an effort of their own denied by the frame in the 40th minute when Gerson Likono’s shot from 30 yards beat goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo but not the post.

Adballah and Kingatua were causing all sorts of trouble for Posta and it was not long before they found the breakthrough as goalkeeper Levis Opiyo spilled Abdallah’s shot into his own net.

Striker Wycliffe Ochomo spurned an opportunity to double Bandari’s lead from a one-on-one situation with Opiyo after midfielder Collins Agade had found him well with a neat cutback.

Rangers just nearly pulled a leveller out of nowhere after Jockins Atudo’s long ball found Francis Nambute whose shot hit the post with Felly Mulumba clearing it from the rebound.
