Acakora Ladies will be bidding to retain their Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Nairobi region crown and return to the nationals when their title defence takes the next step this weekend at the Jamhuri High School.

“I’ve prepared adequately to face any team, but I won’t underestimate any opponent my plan approach is to approach every game with full gears .The fans should be ready to be entertained with a win,” Head Coach Pauline Awuor said.

Season One champions Starehe’s Beijing Raiders will be out to regain their lost glory, but will first have to make it past Kibagare Girls from West lands before they can dream for a berth in the final.

In the second semi-finals, defending champions Acakoro Ladies from Kasarani will face Makadara’s St. Anne’s Eaglets.

In other blockbuster semi-finals ties, Brookshine Academy from Kasarani are pitted against Madaraka’s Harakati Sportiff with Kenya School of Government (KSG) from Westlands taking on Dagoretti High school in the boys category.

The regional finals commenced with mentorship clinics on Friday, where players will be imparted with necessary life skills, for a successful career on and off pitch. The semi-finals will be played, on Saturday with the finals being held on Sunday.

Champions in each category ,will pocket a whooping KES 200,000 each and score a chance to represent the region in the National finals set for June 2020 where, KES 1 000 000 will be up for grabs. The runners up will pocket KES 100,000 with a host of individual prices set to be won.

After the zone finals, an All-Star team comprising of 16 girls and 16 boys will be hand-picked to take part in a 10-day training camp in Spain during which they will contest against top Spanish La Liga football academies in friendly matches.
