Velma Achieng scored a game high 20 points to lead KPA to a 79-30 rout of USIU in a lopsided Kenya Ladies Basketball Federation match on Sunday at Nyayo Gymnasium.

The Dockers bounced back to victory after slumping to a 79-70 defeat in the fingers of the reigning champs Equity Hawks on Saturday.

KPA dominated the opening three quarters, thumping the varsity side 20-9 in the first period; before Donasama Achieng powered the Dockers with 12 points to demolish USIU 22-6 and 22-02 in the second and third quarter singly, with Brenda Angeshi and Hilda Imdasi playing co-stars with stunning performances.

The Varsity side found its spark in the last quarter thumping the ex-champions 16-15, led by gallant Daisy Lugendo and Michelle Wahome; but the feisty fight was a too late to hand them a win.

In another match, Equity Hawks stretched her supremacy by humbling Zetech University to a 52-46 defeat to curve the weekend double after thumping KPA in their weekend opener.

The Bankers scooped the first quarter with 11-9 dominance; Before Betty Kananu slotted 2-three pointers and 3 lay-ups to tip the Hawks to 14-9 and 17-11 triumph in the second and the third quarter, with Hilda Ndegwa and Samba Mjomba Playing Co-stars.

Hawks Tactician David Maina is eying to slot more wins and ensure his charges display splendid performances after curving the weekend double.

“It was quite a good show from my girls after winning the weekend games despite having one of the tough match against KPA , now we are eying to bag more wins in our next matches,” Said Maina.
