AFC Leopards to unveil new signings ahead of KCB match

AFC Leopards is set to unveil new signings at the Nyayo Stadium ahead of their match against KCB scheduled for 6PM.

According to the club’s Interim Chairman Walter Onyino, there will be an unofficial unveiling ceremony just a few minutes to kick off to introduce the new players to the fans.

The club witnessed a mass exodus of players during the just concluded June transfer window due to the financial crisis that saw the players go for four months without salary.

The AFC Leopards players who left the club include Titus Mulama who signed for Chemelil, Joel Bataro (Sony), Wycliffe Kasaya (Nakumatt FC), Martin Imbalambala (Nakumatt FC), Edward Seda (Mathare), Joseph Shikokoti (Ushuru), Musa Mudde (Bandari), Noah Wafula (Tusker FC),  Abdalla Juma (Tusker), Emmanuel Ngama (Tusker FC) and Martin Musalia who signed for Tusker.

The new signings who have joined Ingwe include Lucas Indeche from Sony Sugar, Eric Masika (Ushuru), Israel Emuge (Gor Mahia), Evan Anguyo (Nakumatt), Patrick Kagogo (Sofapaka), Joseph Njuguna (Mathare United), Solomon Nasio (Dandora All Stars), Eliud Ekakoro (West Sugar), Victor Omune (Mahakama), Simon Sikuku (Mahakama) and Eugine Musilwa and  Rodgers Shitemi who were unattached.

One match at a time

Meanwhile AFC Leopards head coach Zdravko Logarusic has exuded confidence that the new signings will perform.

In a statement on the club’s social media pages, Logarusic said: “We are taking one match at a time. We have new players and I hope that they will be focused in delivering 3 points.”

AFC Leopards is currently placed 6th with 25 points while KCB is placed 14th with 13 points. Both teams have so far played 16 matches.

The first encounter between the two teams ended in a 3-1 win for Ingwe with former KCB striker Jacob Keli scoring a brace for the Leopards.

Elsewhere Sofapaka grabbed a vital 3 points after beating Chemelil 1-0 in a match played at Afraha Stadium on Tuesday.

Sofapaka’s lone goal came through Ugandan Herman Wasswa who climbed high to nod home a corner kick taken by Fwadi Ndaiyisenga on 29 minutes.

At City Stadium, league leaders Gor Mahia will take on Thika United from 4pm while Ulinzi Stars play Tusker at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru at 4:15pm.

Other matches include Nakuru All Stars vs City Stars, Bandari vs Ushuru, Muhoroni vs Sony Sugar, Western Stima vs Mathare United.
