Afrobasket: Morans fall to Uganda, Senegal in friendlies
The national men basketball team ‘Morans’ lost two build up matches as they race to be in shape for the 2021 FIBA Afrobasket Championship which begins Tuesday in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Morans lost 40-59 against Uganda Monday morning at Nyarutarama in Kigali, the defeat coming in the wake of a 67-74 defeat to five times Champions Senegal on Sunday before losing
Both Uganda and Senegal are in Group D alongside Cameroon and South Sudan while Kenya are in Group C with Nigeria, Mali and Ivory Coast.
Group A consists of hosts Rwanda, DRC Congo, Angola and Cape Verde while Group B includes Tunisia, Central Africa Republic, Egypt and Cape Verde.
The Championship tips off tomorrow to September 5 at the Kigali Arena.
Ranked 112th globally, the Morans last featured at the biennial event in 1993 by virtue of playing hosts to the games finishing fourth.
