Aga Khan win basketball titles at Mombasa School Games

Little known Aga Khan Academy Mombasa will represent Mombasa in basketball both Boys and Girls’ categories after emerging victorious in the just concluded Mombasa County School Games Term One at Shimo La Tewa.

They defeated Mama Ngina Girls 42-25 in the final while their male counterparts saw off Mombasa Baptist 74-51 to book their ticket to the Coastal Region Games set for March 13.

In the rugby Sevens, Khamis High outshone Allidina Visram 17-0 to progress while in Kilifi County newcomers Majenjeni won in Girls’ handball. Barani will represent the region in the Boys’ handball category.

Sokoke High basketball team stopped the boys from Gede to book their ticket to the regional games after 74-49.

Elsewhere in Kwale County, Shimba Hills won in both boys and girls handball, in boys’ basketball as well in rugby sevens to sweep into the regional games in style.

Kaya Tiwi girls defended their basketball title after whipping Vigurungani  160-2 in an intensely lopsided match that was abandoned in the third quarter.

Mombasa County will host Coast region term 1 games at the Shimo la Tewa Secondary School.
