The CAF Confederation Cup Group D leaders Hussein Dey, arrived in Nairobi on Thursday and held a light training session at the Utalii Grounds ahead of their showdown with Gor Mahia FC.

Gor’s Deputy Secretary General Ronald Ngala said they duly booked a hotel residency for the visitors who will  have another training on Friday evening before feeling the Kasarani pitch tomorrow.

Gor, who are placed second in Pool D, trail the Algerians by a point and could return top of the group if they win on Sunday.

The Kenyan Premier League giants will miss the services of centre half Joash Onyango who has accrued two yellow cards in the competition.

“We have received communication from CAF stating that Onyango will be ineligible for the clash after accumulating two yellow cards, the last one being in the match between KÓgalo and Petro Atletico,” Ngala said.

This is the second time Onyango has been slapped with a match ban after he was earlier suspended alongside captain Harun Shakava for two matches for match misconduct against Lobi Stars of Nigeria. Onyango is said to have abused the referee during that instance.

Ngala reiterated Gor are treating the clash with keen attention as they seek to avoid a ‘repeat of mistakes’ that led to their exit at the same stage last year.

“Last year we managed to grab four point away but also lost four at home meaning our away form was degraded by our laxity at home.

“Our target this year is to collect maximum points from home matches and at least a draw in our remaining away matches,” asserted Ngala.

Legenday Dennis Oliech will be available for selection after failing to travel with the team to Angola following an injury he picked at Camp Toyoyo Grounds.
