Alliance High win Central Region rugby 15s title

Alliance High School are the Central Region Secondary School Games rugby 15s champions after they defeated Pioneer School 31-0 in the final played at their Alliance backyard.

They were 37-0 winners over Chinga High School in the semi-final while Pioneer had battled through Nyeri High School in the other last four clash.

Alliance coach John Karimi said his team is ready to challenge for top honours at national level ahead of next month’s competition at Shanzu, Mombasa County.

“I am grateful with the results. We did well and we are now focused  on the nationals,” Karimi said.

In other disciplines that took place on Day One of the Games, Kahuho  High School  were crowned the Girls’ handball champions after defeating Irigithathi 20-19 in the final. Mang’u High School will represent the Region in the Nationals after edging out Namwaro 26-21 in the Boys’ handball final.
