Ambitious KCB head to South Africa for high altitude training

Kenya Cup defending champions KCB RFC will on Wednesday afternoon fly out to South Africa  for a 10-day high intensity training .

The 30-man squad will travel in batches with the first group flying out today afternoon while the second group will fly out tomorrow aboard a Kenya Airways flight.

Topping the 30-man strong squad is Oscar Simiyu, Brian Nyikuli and Elly Mukaizi.

In a phone interview with Citizen Digital, KCB’s assistant coach Dennis Mwanja  said that the team will be aiming to improve its fitness levels  ahead of the new Kenya Cup season.

“Yes, it’s true the boys will be travelling to South Africa this afternoon .We will go in two batches; the first batch will depart today at 2:00pm whereas the second will depart tomorrow through.

“We are looking at improving our weak areas and fitness levels.”

While in SA, the bankers will face Currie Cup sides Stormers RFC and Western Province as they race to be in shape ahead of the 2018/2019 Kenya Cup season which begins  October.
