American teams arrive for Eldoret volleyball event

American Volleyball teams, Salt factory sports and Baylor are the first foreign teams to land in the country for the 13th edition of the Amaco International Volleyball championship set for the 25th to 26th May, 2019 at the Eldoret Polytechnic.

A total of seven foreign teams are expected to take part in the two day event five from neighboring Uganda which include sport S and KCCA all women clubs and their male counterparts together with Sky volleyball club.

According to the event founder Paul Bitok the other foreign teams are expected in the country on Thursday.
“The two American sides arrived last night and they will spend a day in Nairobi before travelling to Eldoret on Thursday,” Bitok, the veteran coach told Citizen Digital. 

The two teams Salt Factory sports a volleyball club based in the USA and the University side Baylor will spend a day with the Paul Bitok Academy young athletes who finish 1st and 2nd respectively in U12 years competition on Friday at Simat village in Eldoret.

GSU, Kenya Prisons, Kenya Pipeline and KPA are just but among the giants competing for the top prize come Sunday.

“All teams in the national league have confirmed same as schools from western, Nyanza, parts of Rift Valley and Central. We are also starting a category for primary school students which will be under 12 years of age.” Bitok, confirmed.

The event brings together teams that feature in the national league, colleges, secondary schools as well as primary schools.
