Amira Sailors down Kenyatta University in KHU

Amira Sailors recovered from an early setback to defeat Kenyatta University Students 2-1 in a Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) Women Premier League match played at the City Park Grounds.

The visitors started the game strongly, dominating the opening proceedings and went in front after just 12 minutes through Monica Kitui.

The Sailors hit back moments later thanks to Pauline Naise’s penalty before Sheila Chebet scored to settle the tie in the 41st minute.

Sailors head coach Muchemi Thomas was satisfied with result terming it a deserved victory.

“You can see we fought hard for this result we deserved it,” he said

On his side the KU head coach Moses Kagochi said his team was unlucky not to get a point From the match

“Its a little painful,we should have gotten something from this game,we started well but lost concentration in the 2nd half,” Kagochi said

Following the result Amira sailors went top of the league with four points same as defending championns Telkom after two Matches .with their coach expecting a promising season for his team.

Kenyatta university students have one point from their previous match.
