Anthony Kimani axed as Bandari release nine players

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Bandari FC has released nine players as new Head Coach and title-winning tactician Paul Nkata gets down to work ahead of the 2017 season.

According to the club’s media liaison officer Abdulrahman Mohammed among those released include full back Abdulatif ‘Achkobe’ Omar and midfielder Anthony Kimani whose contracts with the club have expired.

Abdulrahman revealed those axed failed to impress during the recently concluded season with the club reportedly on the hunt for their replacements.

Others released players are Ugandan striker George Abege, goalkeeper Kennedy Onyanchi, David Gateri, Khamisi Mwamzandi, Abbas Muhiddin as well as Posta Rangers bound duo Eric Kibiru and Victor Ndinya.

Abdulrahman confirmed the club’s players recruitment exercise is still ongoing and a full list of the new signings will be released in due course after consultation with former Tusker FC coach Nkata.

The 2017 transfer season closes on January 31st.
