Arsenal wont pay Ksh 6.7b for Mahrez

Riyad Mahrez has been left in transfer limbo with Arsenal unwilling to meet Leicester’s £50m valuation.

The north London side have held talks with the Foxes over signing the former PFA Player of the Year, but do not want to pay more than £35m for the Algerian international.

Mahrez has handed in a transfer request and is understood to have an agreement with Leicester that he will be allowed to leave this summer after ignoring interest from the likes of Barcelona last year.

But with a huge gap in valuation between the two Premier League sides, he is expected to attend the start of pre-season training with Leicester on Friday despite the question marks over his future.

Arsenal are still prioritising the signing of Thomas Lemar from Monaco, but his £80m asking price is an issue, meaning they have turned their attention to Mahrez.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has registered his interest in City’s Fabian Delph and will not stand in Jonathan Walters’ way after accepting he wants to join Burnley.

Chelsea

Manager Antonio Conte’s future at Chelsea is in doubt because the Italian is furious at the club’s summer transfer failings.

The blues could face a striker crisis after Diego Costa, started to say his goodbyes to his team-mates, having been told he is not part of Conte’s plans for next season.

Chelsea have meanwhile not ruled out a swap deal between Eden Hazard and Real Madrid star James Rodríguez.

Swansea City are expecting a £32m bid from Everton for star Gylfi Sigurdsson.

 Spain

Real Madrid have told Kylian Mbappe they will bring him to the Bernabeu, but only after they have concluded the sales of Man United’s target Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez.
