Arturo Vidal deal not yet complete, Bayern CEO says

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has denied reports that the Bundesliga champions have completed the signing of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The Italian side have accepted an offer of £28 million for the Chilean but no agreement has yet been made with the player.

“It is not a secret that we’re interested in this player. But I’ve read that everything is already completed. That’s not the case. We are interested but we’re not far enough to talk about the details and agreements with the player. We have to be patient and I hope that in the end the player will join us.

Rummenigge also revealed that Bayern were in talks to sign the 28 year old four years ago, but his former club Leverkusen refused to sell him to a domestic rival.

Rummenigge then denied rumours that Mario Gotze will be used in a swap deal with the Serie A champions.

Bayern Munich were departing on a lucrative pre-season tour to China and Rummenigge claimed tours in the far east were necessary if Bundesliga clubs are to compete against their counterparts in the Premier League.
