BAK rolls out expanded 2017 boxing calender

The Boxing Association of Kenya (BAK) has increased the number of rounds in this year’s National League to six from five with the competition starting in Kisumu in March and culminating in Mombasa in November.

Other legs will be held in Nanyuki, Thika, Machakos and Nakuru, with separate youth, juniors, schools boys’ and girls’ championships also set to feature in three events that will be held in Nairobi and Mombasa.

Kenya will also send a team to participate in the Amateur Boxing Association World Boxing Championship in Hamburg, Germany slated for September.

In a statement sent to the media houses by BAK, three rounds of Inter Regional Championship will be held in three different venues around the country.

League champions Kenya Police are expected to dominate seniors’ competitions, with stiff competition expected from the Kenya Defence Forces.
