Bandari axe four with Keli topping the list

Coastal based Kenya Premier League side Bandari has dropped four players from its rank, as the rebuilding exercise takes shape in earnest ahead of the 2018 season.

Widely travelled former Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards hit man Jacob Keli top the list of those purged .Others are veteran dead ball specialist Noah Abich, burly forward Enock  Agwanda and  Tyronne Owino.

The club is expected to give the boot to a further four in two weeks time when they complete their ten-day recruitment blitz.

Bandari Board of Trustees’ chairman Salim Sumra said that following the poor performance in 2017 where they finished at position ten, it is important for the Dockers to start early preparations for the 2018 season.

“We started recruitment three months ago, many of our players in the current squad had injuries and we have released them to create space for new players,” he said: “This  time round the biggest percentage will be set aside for players from this region,”Sumra  told Citizen Digital in a phone interview.

At the same time, the club has announced that it will be conducting trials beginning Monday as they seek to rop in new young talents to bolster the squad.
