Bandari edge Homeboyz in thriller, Tusker overcome Sharks

Bandari FC played an entire half with a man down but did just enough to edge visiting Kakamega Homeboyz 4-3 in a dramatic FKF Premier League encounter at the Mbaraki Grounds on Saturday.

Winger Hassan Abdallah and Willian Wadri scored inside the opening ten minutes in a fast start for the hosts whose effort was dashed by Moses Mudavadi’s double that left the scoreline at 2-2.

Wadri received his marching orders five minutes before the break and Yema Mwana scored in stoppage time of the opening half to ensure Bandari led 3-2 in the interval.

Abadallah got his brace just after the hour mark to hand his side the two-goal cushion before Eston Asiye scored late on to set up an nerve-wracking finish. But Bandari hang on to claim all three points.

Speaking to Citizen Digital Bandari head coach Cases Mbungo hailed his charges for the win.

“My boys played well although we had many chances to put the game to bed but failed utilize them. We must keep up this momentum,” Mbungo said.

They result will pile more pressure on Homeboys coach Nicholus Muyoti who so far has only one win, four loses and two draws.

Elsewhere, Tusker defeated Kariobangi Sharks 4-2 in a match that featured three braces from Brian Marita, Henry Meja and Eric Kapaito.

In Mumias Nzoia United edged Sofapaka FC 2-1 while Nairobi City Stars and Ulinzi Stars drew 1-1.
