Bandari eyeing Guerdane scalp in Confed Cup

Bandari FC will be keen to make home advantage count when they host Tunisia’s US Ben Guerdane in round one of their CAF Confederation Cup clash in Nairobi.

The Tunisians will arrive in the capital this afternoon and will get a feel of the Kasarani pitch as well hold a light training session at 4pm ahead of tomorrow’s first leg clash at the venue.

Coach Bernard Mwalala said his charges want to seize advantage having squeezed through the preliminary round on goal difference after drawing 1-1 on aggregate with Sudan’s Al Ahly Shandy.

“We dont want to repeat what we did against Shandy and pilled alot of pressure on us ahead of the second leg, any home win will be good for us,” Mwalala said.

The Dockers will not be able to field their latest new signings including Mohamed Katana alias Messi, Sosthenes Idah and keeper Justin Ndikumana who did not beat CAF submission deadline.

“The three will join us in the play off round if we qualify,” he added.

At the same time former Nzoia Sugar coach called on Kenyans to turn out in large number to rally behind his boys terming it as an advantage during home games.

Bandari will  travel to Tunisia for the second leg scheduled for September 27 as they will be keen to write their own history.
