Bandari rally to stun Zoo in five-goal thriller

Bandari FC came from behind to defeat Zoo Kericho 3-2 thanks to a sensational second half display in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match at the Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa on Wednesday.

Collins Neto scored a four-minute brace to put Zoo 2-0 up inside the opening 20 minutes and the visitors protected their advantage into the break before imploding in the second half.

William Wadri halved the deficit second after the restart and Yema Mwana drew the hosts level a minute later before substitute Messi Agege completed the fight-back on his debut.

Bandari forced Zoo in their own half and Agege assured the dockers their first league win after curling a corner into the net.

Agege caused some havoc in Zoo’s defence and Bandari almost got their fourth through Yema but he was penalised after flagged offside.

Zoo had their best chances in the first half but failed to convert them with Dominic Kiprono and Bernard Odhiambo missing one on one chance to put the game to bed.

Bandari goalkeeper Justin Ndikumana made some fine saves to keep Bandari at bay and the former Sofapaka shot stopper denied Derrick Anami two minutes before the half time whistle.

The win makes it two in two for Bandari after their weekend heroics at Kasarani when they beat USB Guardane 2-0 in CAF Confederation Cup.

The team will travel to Sony for their third league clash while Zoo will host Tusker FC.
