Bandari ready for league resumption

Bandari FC team manager Albert Ogari has announced that they are in the process of recalling their players to camp ahead of league resumption.

The coastal side had released their players following the ban on sports with Burundian goalkeeper Justin Ndikumana flying to his native Burundi to participate in the AFCON qualifiers with his national team.

“All players will be coming back immediately to our camp except Ndikumana(Justin) but he will also be on his way very soon,” explained Ogari.

Ogari is confident that they will be ready for resumption on May 12 as players have been undergoing personal training under the watch of the head coach Andre Casa Mbungo.

“If the league starts next week as proposed it will be good because we need very few days to train together to regain the momentum,” he added.

His sentiments correspond with Bandari’s captain Bernard Odhiambo who said last week that they are keeping fit through an online tutorial under Coach Andre Casa Mbungo and will be ready for action anytime when the government deems it fit.

“Even if the government gives green light today we are good to go because we are doing individual training under coach Mbungo’s stewardship,” he noted.

On fixture congestion once the league resumes, Ogari revealed that they will have to prepare psychologically as they cover many kilometers traveling around the country to honour fixtures.

“We have no option but to adhere to it but we hope FKF will consider us when rearranging the fixture,” he concluded.
