Bandari FC forward William Wadri and his coach Andre Casa Mbungo have been named the FKF Premier League’s February player of the month and coach of the month respectively.

They were feted this morning at an event held at Goan Institute in Nairobi where the team has been camping ahead of their FKF Premier League encounter against Wazito FC on Saturday.

Wadri was in fine form in front of the goal in February having netted three goals as Andre Casa Mbungo guided Bandari to win all of their four fixtures during the period.

Ugandan Wadri scored the lone goal against Kariobangi Sharks away in Kasarani before adding a brace against AFC Leopards in Mbaraki.

The former Uganda Police FC striker has set a target of 15 goals before the end of the season as well as helping his team to lift their maiden league title.

“I have set 15 goals as my target and I know I will achieve as we are going for our second leg in the league,” said delighted Wadri.

He at the same time thanked his team mates for helping him to scope the monthly award stating he could not afford it alone.

“As you know football is a collective work so without them I could not manage it, so it is our trophy.”

Mbungo on his side guided Bandari to four wins in as many matches in the month to claim the award ahead of his Bidco United counterpart Anthony Akhulia.

Bandari began the month with a 1-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks at the Utalii grounds before humbling AFC Leopards 2-1 in the subsequent match played at the Mbaraki grounds.

The coastal side skinned Vihiga United alive in the third match after squeezing five unanswered goals and shot down Ulinzi Stars 2-0 in the final match of the month.

Mbungo is the third recipient of the award this season after KCB’s Zedekiah Otieno (December) and Wazito’s Francis Kimanzi (January).

The dockers will be against Wazito FC in an entertaining FKF Premier League tomorrow (Saturday) at Kasarani stadium.
