Bandari sign Washe, Mohammed

FKF Premier League side Bandari FC has signed former Coast Stima FC winger Alphonse Washe and Former Green Palm Academy striker Hamid Mohammed.

Bandari FC team manager Wilson Obungu said the duo, who turned out for the under 20 national team against Sudan earlier this week, have been training with the team.

“We have already completed signing the two Washe and Hamid who will be in our 30 players list in the forthcoming season”, said former Kenya goalkeeper.

The Mombasa-based sides appear to be leaning on youth, having also registered some of the players from their junior team who will be recalled to feature in the league whenever the need arises.

“We have other young players whom the head coach recruited but will be registered in our youth team and called to the senior upon bench request”, he added.

Bandari had earlier stated that they will not recruit before changing tack and have now gone for young players.

Meanwhile Obungu has also confirmed that their Ugandan full back Fred Nkata has not joined the club and he is not reachable through phone.

The former Nairobi City Stars left the country during the pandemic but has not returned without any communication leading to his omission in the final squad submitted to the federation for the first leg.

“We have tried all means but he is unreachable despite still being our player he will not feature in the first leg just like Ozil in Arsenal”, explained Obungu.

Bandari have already resumed training at their Mbaraki Sports Club grounds and they are scheduled to tackle Zoo FC in their opening league fixture in Mombasa.

Elsewhere, Mathare United have taken to four the number of their new signings after adding Moses Mburu and Eugne Wethule to their squad.

Full-back Mburu has penned a two-year deal while Eugene who joins from Nairobi Stim has also committed to a similar period.
