Bandari to train in Europe if they win the KPL

Bandari FC will have a seven-day training in Europe for their 2019-2020 season preparations if they clinch the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title this season.

The pledge was made by their main sponsor Kenya Ports Authority through its Managing Director Daniel Manduku following a Wednesday lunch session with the squad at a hotel in Mombasa.

Under head coach Bernard Mwalala, Bandari FC have emerged as a force to reckon with and currently lead the KPL standings yet Manduku believes they can only better with extra motivation.

“I’m very proud of these boys. We are at the top of the table right now and I can’t be more than happy. I already told them that,if they give us the title this season, we’ll arrange a seven-day trip to Europe to train either in Germany or England,” said Manduku.

The gesture is meant to bolster the players’ morale and confidence as they enter into the middle of the season.

“We want to encourage them even more because they have done really well so far this season. We are poised to win the league and because we believe we can deliver it we are going to give them our support. I urge them to stay focused,” Manduku added.

Last year in November, Bandari were rewarded with a four-day tour to Zanzibar following an exceptional campaign in which they achieved their best ever finish in the KPL after coming second behind champions Gor Mahia FC.

Bandari, who were finalists during last month’s Super Cup in Tanzania, host Nzoia Sugar in their next assignment at Mbaraki Sports club where they will seek to tighten their grip on the top spot.
