Bandari unveil new signings ahead of Mathare season opener

Bandari FC has unveiled their four new signings ahead of their FKF Premier League season opener against Mathare United on Saturday.

The four are goalkeeper Joseph Okoth from KCB, Ugandan Rodgers Aloro from Tusker, Whyvonne Isuze from Wazito and left back Boniface Mwangemi from Kariobangi Sharks.

Speaking at the Mbaraki grounds, Bandari FC vice-chairman Bernard Osero said that they are going for nothing short of the league title this season after finishing in the third place last season.

Osero who also represented sponsors Kenya Ports Authority at the short event said that they are giving every kind of support to the team and the league title will be a good reward back to them in the coming season.

“You always receive everything you need from KPA and we have agreed that we want the title this season,” said Osero.

Bandari’s head coach Andre Casa Mbungo said that they are still in negotiation to add more players in the squad before the transfer window closes.

“We have brought these four here but we are targeting others so that we can score as well as defend going forward.”

The dockers has at the same time released eight players, three of them joining Sofapaka on loan ahead of the 2021-22 season.

Wilberforce Lugogo, Hamid Mohammed and George Osama will be under coach Ken Odhiambo’s eyes in Wundanyi as Yema Mwana and Dan Guya joined Kakamega Homeboyz and Sofapaka respectively.

“We want every player to get more time and experience either on loan or permanent because everyone deserves better,” added Mbungo.

The Rwandese tactician has also applauded six of his players who have received Harambee Stars call up ahead of Mali double header in the World Cup qualifiers next month despite that the federation has not announced the full squad of coach Engin Firat first batch of players.

Bandari ranked third last season behind KCB FC and chanpions Tusker FC.
