Bandari FC new catch Whyvonne Isuza has attributed their strong start to the league to the ‘good’ pre-season the team had.

The dockers got off to a roaring start beating Mathare United 3-0 at their Mbaraki backyard on Saturday.

Bandari had camped in Ngong, Kajiado County before another week at their Mombasa base playing three friendlies in the course.

“We had good preparations and the bonding in the camp played a big role in our wonderful start of the season,” said soft-spoken Isuza.

At the same time the former Wazito and AFC Leopards attacking midfielder says that having worked under Andre Casa Mbungo at Leopards, he knows exactly what the coach needs of him.

“We have worked with Casa before and I know what he expects from me that’s why it was easy for me to adopt,” he explained.

Isuza scored a brace as Umaru Kasumba added another in a match where other new signings Rodgers Aloro and Boniface Mwangemi also got their debuts. The other new signing, goalkeeper Joseph Okoth started from the bench.

On his side Bandari head coach Andre Casa Mbungo was satisfied with the approach his boys took in their opening match.

The Rwandese tactician said they have a plan of winning the league title this season and that will only be achieved by winning each game at a time.

“We have a long way to go to achieve our dream and target this season but the good start has given us hope in accomplishing the mission.”

Bandari are set to play a set of friendly matches during the international break starting this Wednesday against SS Assad of Ukunda, Kwale County, who will be playing in the NSL playoff after finishing second in the National Division One Zone A league.
