Bandaris Messi Agege has eyes on KPL title

Mohammed ‘Messi Agege’ Katana believes he can provide the extra bit of quality Bandari FC need in order to finally win their first ever Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title.

Bandari have finished second twice over the previous two KPL seasons with Gor Mahia FC winning the title on each occasion and Agege says he can help propel his new side to glory.

The 19-year-old produced a match-winning performance on Wednesday, scoring the winning goal as Bandari erased a two-goal deficit against Zoo Kericho FC at the Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.

“I want to help the team as much as I can. We have CAF (Confederation Cup) matches and we want to go furthest in that competition. In the last two seasons we have been runners up in the league and the objective now is to win it,” Agege said.

His sentiments were echoed by Nicholas Meja who insisted that they are going for nothing but the title and believes his side has all what it takes to be crowned champions at the end of the season.

He told Citizen Digital, ” We want a trophy this season but mainly we want the league. We are going to try our best and see if we can bring it home.”

Bandari have three days to recover before their next assignment as they visit Sony Sugar in what will be their third match in nine days.
