Bandari FC coach Ken Odhiambo has lauded the new broadcasting deal between Football Kenya Federation and Chinese pay TV StarTimes, saying it will raise the standard of the Kenyan top flight league.

Odhiambo said the news was a welcome relief for unstable clubs that have been struggling to meet their financial obligations and will increase the level of competition.

“It will add some taste of course in the league and the competition will also grow,” explained Odhiambo. He added, “many teams have been struggling financially and this will be a relief to them as there will be given some token from it.”

FKF yesterday announced the Sh770 million deal yesterday which will see the premier league matches together with men and women national teams, and the National Super League beamed live.

According to its president Nick Mwendwa the first match to be aired will be the friendly match between Kenya’s Harambee Stars against Zambia’s Chipolopolo slated for October 10.

On the national team squad selection, Odhiambo whose players were ommited said that every coach has his philosophy and plans and there is no harm if no single Bandari player is in the team.

He expressed confidence that in the coming days his players will be featuring frequently in the National team.

“I think the coach (Kimanzi) knows what he wants so lets give him time and space to do his job but am sure my players will start to earn those call up soon”.

Bandari FC are yet to resume group training as they still carry out individual work outs.
